Altergy Announces the Addition of Mr. Eric Strayer, a Veteran of the Fuel Cell Industry, to Lead Sales Efforts for Altergy Worldwide

Folsom, CA – Mr. Eric Strayer joins Altergy as Vice President of Sales with the responsibility for leading sales and business development efforts for Altergy worldwide.  The growing need for reliable backup power in critical applications, coupled with the growing need for more sustainable solutions has driven the demand for Altergy’s fuel cells as a replacement to batteries and generators.  Batteries cannot sustain the long run times needed and diesel generators are inherently unreliable and have become increasingly harder and harder to permit due to toxic emissions.  Altergy’s Freedom Power fuel cell product portfolio delivers a perfect combination of reliable, consistent performance, longer runtimes with no harmful emissions.

“We are excited to leverage Mr. Strayer’s extensive background in delivering power solutions to customers worldwide. His deep experience in telecommunications will support our growing portfolio of telecom and OSP customers,” stated Eric Mettler, President and CEO of Altergy.

With over 15 years in the industry, Mr. Strayer joined the fuel cell industry with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Power in 2003, he has held positions in technology, product development and management, sales and business development. Previously, he served in senior sales and business development roles at Doosan Fuel Cell America, Inc., product development roles at Nissan Motor Corporation and Freudenberg-NOK, and in global supply chain management at BellSouth International. Mr. Strayer holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the leadership development program at Harvard Business School.

“Altergy is on a course to become an iconic company.  I am amazed by the forethought in Altergy’s minimalist design for low cost, high reliability, and high volume manufacturing.  With one of the world’s largest deployed stationary fuel cell fleets, a fully automated state of the art production line and a family of products designed as a more reliable drop in replacement for batteries and industrial generators, Altergy is poised to accelerate its market growth in multiple industries,” said Eric Strayer.
