Altergy’s Freedom Power™ Systems Successfully Up and Running for a Major Regional Telecom Customer Before Hurricane Season
Altergy is pleased to announce that it has delivered and deployed its Freedom Power Systems to a telecom customer in the Caribbean ahead of the hurricane season, as planned. These 5kW systems are replacing batteries as the backup power source and in this case utilize a methanol reformer to provide the hydrogen fuel for the fuel cell and provide more than 100 hours of backup power runtime on a single fuel fill up.
This island customer is not immune to the type of power outages that disrupt communications capability around the world but they have the added threat of frequent hurricanes which have the potential to disrupt power for days at a time. Altergy’s fuel cell systems bridge these interruptions assuring customers the continuous communications capability they desire.
