Altergy Completes Largest Known Fuel Cell Deployment

FOLSOM, California – November 21, 2009 – Altergy Systems announced today the completion of deployment of more than 330 of its Freedom Power Systems in southern Florida for Metro PCS. The deployment is believed to be the largest single deployment of fuel cells for the telecommunications market in U.S. history. These 5kW, 10kW and 15kW fuel cell systems were installed in 140 sites over several months in an area covering more than 10,000 square miles. Some of these sites were ground based, routine installations, while others were a bit more challenging ( such as the one shown in the photo below, where a Freedom Power System was installed on steel I beams, overhanging a roof top, some 10 stories up.) More than half of them were on rooftops or in difficult locations or conditions.
