Mickey Oros Assumes Chairmanship of the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative Industry Advisory Panel

SACRAMENTO, California – May 15, 2007 – California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative (CaSFCC) co-chairs Professor Scott Samuelsen, Ph.D., Director of the National Fuel Cell Research Center at the University of California-Irvine and Dr. Robert F. Sawyer, Chairman of the California Air Resources Board announced the appointment of Altergy Vice President-Government Relations Mickey Oros as Chairman of the Collaborative’s Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) for the period July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. 

“Mickey Oros and Altergy have championed the Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative from our earliest days,” remarked Dr. Scott Samuelsen, co-chair of the Collaborative and Director of the National Fuel Cell Research Center based at the University of California-Irvine.  “Mickey’s knowledge of the field and passionate commitment to advancing fuel cell-based energy will be put to even greater use by the Collaborative as he assumes the role of Industry Advisory Panel Chairman.”

The Collaborative is a joint initiative of federal, state, and regional agencies interested in the acceleration of stationary fuel cell commercialization in the State of California and beyond.  

The Industry Advisory Panel gives input on both program and budget to the Collaborative’s co-chairs from the perspective of fuel cell stakeholders.  This close interaction of private sector industry representatives and government officials strengthens the Collaborative and enables it to pursue its mission more effectively. 

The mission of the Collaborative is to promote stationary fuel cell commercialization as a means of:

  • Reducing or eliminating air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Increasing energy efficiency;
  • Promoting energy reliability and security;
  • Promoting energy diversity;
  • Promoting energy independence;
  • Realizing a sustainable energy future.
