Project Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the technical success of assigned projects, including assuring that delivered products meet contractual requirements for engineering design
- Performs engineering analysis, producibility analysis and materials compatibility as required
- May also prepare and support negotiation of technical proposals and provide technical consultation to technical staff or other organizations
- Monitors status of engineering projects and communicates project requirements
- Prepare technical presentations and reports documenting status, issues and results on assigned project(s)
- Ensures technical effort is planned and then successfully executed within budget and schedule resources
- Balances the project technical scope with cost and schedule
- Manage, after orders are entered, the projects to customers’ expectations as established by sales engineer
- Acts as a technical liaison between manufacturing, product lines, and the customer during the execution of a project
- Works independently on daily tasks and design; however, does receive guidance on new design and/or application aspects
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in engineering
- 11 years of related technical experience
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated organizational ability to effectively plan and coordinate schedules, cost and work flow
- Good understanding of selling techniques, market channels and technical applications Knowledge of the overall sales function, customer channels, and customer and departmental needs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
